AOP Côtes du Roussillon Villages Tautavel Red 2013
Grape varieties :
40 % Carignan vieilles vignes. Vineyard planted in 1938 in limestone clay soil, facing south.
30 % Syrah. Vineyard planted in 1995 in limestone clay soil, facing north.
30 % Black Grenache. Vineyard planted in 1955 in limestone caly soil, facing south.
Hand picking. Cold maceration for one weeks. Then, traditional maceration for two weeks. Gentle pressing. Maturing in stainless steel vats on the lees for eighteen months.
Appearance : Deep red, garnet tinge.
Nose : Beautiful Complexity with notes of black fruit, blackcurrant, candied fruit and spicy followed by toasted shades.
Palate : The attack is round and fleshy followed by a beautiful evolution on notes of ripe fruit and sweet spices. Tanins are well rounded. This wine is well balanced and present a good length.
Serve between 15 and 17 °C.
Our suggestions :
This wine will accompagny perfectly the roasts, the red meats. Excellent on a honeyed duck.
